Warners Solicitors celebrates 25 years in Sevenoaks with a gift for the community
A new parklet has been unveiled by Sevenoaks Town Mayor thanks to Warners Solicitors, which has dedicated the 25th anniversary of its Sevenoaks residency to the local community. Partnering with Sevenoaks Town Team, Warners has donated towards the installation of two of these new wellbeing-inspired green spaces. The parklets’ sustainable design combines seating and planters to enhance the look and community feel of the town centre, in addition to providing a spot for passersby to relax and socialise.
In honour of Big Green Week (commencing 24th September), Warners Solicitors joins the collective community action to protect the local natural world. With Warners’ offices close by, the first parklet is situated adjacent to the Post Office, and the second will soon be opened on the corner of Suffolk Way. Introducing green spaces for reflection in these busy town centre spots, they also feature integral water reservoir systems, crucially saving water and minimising maintenance.
The Mayor officially opened the first parklet for public use at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on 20th September hosted by Warners Solicitors and Sevenoaks Town Council. The parklets are part of a wider programme to improve the appearance and ambience of the town centre, which is funded by the Town Council, with help from the local authorities and from businesses such as Warners Solicitors. Projects like these have helped Sevenoaks receive the title of best place to live in the Southeast in 2022 by The Times, and join the shortlist for the RHS’ Britain in Bloom 2022 national finals competition.
Elizabeth Dolding, Partner at Warners Solicitors, comments: “We are proud to have been part of the Sevenoaks community for 25 years, so it felt only fitting to mark the occasion by giving the town something residents, workers and visitors can enjoy. Caring for our employees, clients, neighbours and our environment is incredibly important to us. Therefore, we wanted our donation to provide nurturing, peaceful spaces in the town that promote wellbeing. Big Green Week encourages communities to come together to take steps to improve the local environment. These small green spaces can benefit nature and bring more plant life to Sevenoaks’ centre to lift everyone’s mood. The Warners team and our clients will certainly be using the parklets as a beautiful lunchtime spot for some fresh air amongst plants and flowers!”
Sevenoaks Town Mayor, Councillor Rachel Parry says: “Warners Solicitors is a great long-standing supporter of the town and in addition to the parklets donation, have sponsored the children’s High Street Safaris and Sevenoaks Business Awards among other initiatives. We are delighted they are choosing to donate these green spaces to the town to commemorate its 25th anniversary. Without contributions from businesses like Warners, we would not be able to provide some of the improvements that make Sevenoaks a thriving and attractive town.”
